Ceremony
- Mike and groomsmen enter Sabrina's house
- Mike and groomsmen are served tea by Sabrina's
sister-in-law
- Mike and groomsmen proceed upstairs to get Sabrina
- Bridesmaids ask questions and force Mike and
groomsmen to earn access to Sabrina
- Mike takes Sabrina downstairs
- Bai Bai ceremony at Sabrina's house - paying respect
to Sabrina's ancestors
- Mike and Sabrina pay respect to Sabrina's mother
- Sabrina's mother covers Sabrina with the bridal veil
- Mike takes Sabrina from the house, while the
matchmaker covers Sabrina's head with a rice threshing basket
- Sabrina and Mike leave and go to the Hyatt; as they
go, Sabrina throws a fan from the car; this helps the bride leave behind her
bad temper.
Homecoming
- Mike's family and friends are waiting in the suite
in the Hyatt
- Mike and Sabrina serve tea to Mike's parents - signifying
their
respect and servitude toward his family
- Mike takes Sabrina to the bridal chamber and
uncovers her veil
- Mike' parents leave red envelope in the empty tea
cups
- The matchmaker serves sweet soup to Sabrina -
signifying hope for an early pregnancy
Banquet
- Guests arrive
- Traditional western ceremony proceeds
- Speech by the General, representing the head of
Sabrina's family
- Ring exchange
- Parent's speeches
- Dinner and music start
- After the second course, bride and groom leave to
the suite
- Bride and groom change to traditional Chinese dress
- Bride and groom enters ballroom, led by traditional
matchmaker
- Dancing and drumming entertainment
- Speeches by best man, maid of honor, bride's maid,
groomsman and groom
- Bride, groom and parents go to
each table to toast with guests
- After the final course, the bride and groom go to
the door to give a gift to each guest as they leave
Late Evening
- Cocktail reception for anyone who didn’t get enough
to drink - the after party!
